Security Manager

Scope:

The Security Manager shall oversee and co-ordinate security services, protect the Company’s property, human life, materials and equipment. He or She shall also patrol project sites, conduct investigations into theft cases or accidents and prepare the necessary reports for Management’s perusal.

MA1: Monitor intelligence information in the communities in GREL’s operational area regarding land encroachment, galamsey and community violence and submit reports to the Corporate Affairs Manager daily by:

  • Supervising the security officers and the security of the entire workforce and site in general.
  • Designing security & risk management policy and procedures and successfully see to its implementation
  • Patrolling the sites and other areas day and night and ensure that detailed officers are at post.
  • Preparing monthly duty roaster and assigned security personnel accordingly.

MA2: Maintain regular contact with Security agencies such as military and police commands in GREL’s operational and other areas of staff residence and report daily to Corporate Affairs in order to secure the safety of Company personnel and assets by:

  • Paying working visits to major police and military command GREL’s operational area
  • Involving security agencies in security situations in GREL that warrant their consent

MA3: Conduct prompt investigation into theft cases and ensure suspects are brought to book and prosecuted by:

  • Submitting weekly reports indicating attendance, incidents or accidents, riots that may occur at the site, record of material movements (in and out) and staff attendance to the Head Office (CAM)
  • Preparing detailed investigation reports, including findings and recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Working closely with police and relevant authorities to support the investigation and build a strong case.
  • Monitoring the legal process to ensure suspects are prosecuted effectively, coordinating with legal counsel as needed.
  • Post-investigation, evaluate and update security protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
  • Improving the Environmental related issues at all security post/workplace
  • Improving Occupational Health and Safety in the security management.

MA4: Follow up on appropriate legal/court issues involving the Company by:

  • Providing weekly and monthly report on court issues involving security.

Requirements:

Education: Degree in Management, Security Studies or related studies.

                     Degree in Sociology or Psychology will be added advantage.

Professional qualification – Security & Risk Management, Surveillance Skills.

Experience:

  • 5-10 years as a Security Manager/Supervisor
  • Prior Experience in military or Police as Commissioned Officer (Minimum rank of a Captain/ Superintendent will be an added advantage.
