On April 4, 2023, GREL held its 17th annual awards ceremony at its Estate Division One (1) Plantation in Abura to recognize and honor employees who have shown exceptional performance in their field of operations.
A welcome speech was delivered by the Human Resources Manager, Mr. Howard NANEVIE. In his delivery, he stated that, “At GREL, we take pride in having some of the most talented and dedicated workers in Ghana, and we are grateful for your exceptional skills, innovative ideas, and smart work. Be assured that Management is committed to doing everything within its means to keep you highly motivated, as evidenced by providing three cost-of-living allowances (COLA) and an unprecedented special COLA in December 2022, in anticipation of the challenging economic climate in Ghana”.
The Managing Director, Mr. Lionel BARRE also commended the awardees for their hard work and setting a benchmark of excellence for all to emulate. He introduced Mr. Thierry CAUCHY as his successor, who will take over as Managing Director of GREL from September 1, 2023.
The General Secretary of the Ghana Agricultural Workers’ Union (GAWU), Mr. Edward KAREWEH whose birthday coincided with the awards day gave a speech expressing his gratitude to GREL management on behalf of all staff. The awards were in seven categories to 42 workers.
