Ghana Rubber Estates Limited (GREL), as part of it policy to fulfil its social responsibility has constructed and furnished a Community Health Centre for the people of Nsein and other adjoining communities within Nsein Traditional Area of Nzema East Municipal Assembly.
The construction of the facility which cost GHS 750,000.00 is expected to support Ghana Health Service (GHS) in the delivery of quality primary health care to the residents of Nsein and other adjoining communities Ayisakro, Ankyeryin, Avrebo, students of Nsein SHS, Awukyire, etc.
In a speech read by the Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Perry Acheampong on behalf of the Managing Director, he thanked all stakeholders for their support in making this project a successful one. He also encouraged the communities to continue to maintain the peace in the area as it is critical to the development of any community.
The Managing Director also used the occasion to throw more light on the various CSR Projects undertaken by GREL in the last decade which amounted to about Four Million Euros. He said that beyond the latex produced by GREL are four key sustainable developments goals which provision of portable drinking water, improve education standards, access to primary health care within the communities and also respecting and undertaking its operations within local and international law environmental laws.
Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX, the Paramount chief of Lower Dixcove (Chairman of ACLANGO) who chaired the occasion in his speech asked the people to take care of the facility and also to patronize the services that will be rendered, because they are the reason why it was built.
The Municipal Health Director, Mrs. Priscilla Ama Amoah expressed her gratitude to GREL for such an edifice stressing that this is her first time seeing a company establish a fully furnished Health Centre for a community and requested for more support such as a laboratory, computers and accommodation for health staff who will be working at the facility.
A Health Management Committee Members were inaugurated as well and they are to liaise between the people and the Health Service for the smooth running of the operations at the facility.
