The Rubber Technical Assistance And Purchasing (RUTAP)
of GREL, as part of its objectives of working directly with the rubber
outgrowers and farmers in line with company policy, held a farmers’ meeting in
Manso Amenfi.
The team was led by Mr Thierry Cauchy, the Managing
Director of GREL, accompanied by the Head of RUTAP, Mr Florian Dezwaene; Mr
Perry Acheampong, the Corporate Affairs Manager; Mr George Wofemenu, the Rubber
Purchasing Manager of RUTAP and Mr Issa Rahman the Sector Two Manager of RUTAP.
The discussion was primarily focused on challenges
faced by farmers in the Amenfi areas, raw material traceability, EUDR, the introduction
of mobile money payment to farmers, and the possibility of a weighbridge in the
area to increase the farmers’ proximity.
