Ghana Rubber Estates Limited as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program has completed the construction and handing over a 10-seater Toilet Facility and a refurbished community center to the people of Abrem Dwabor in the KEEA Municipality of the Central Region.
The construction of the KVIP facility is part of GREL’s contribution improving the sanitation condition of the community. Also, the community had began the construction of a community centre but had been able to complete it for years due to lack of funds. GREL decided to take over the project and complete it for the community as it is a key facility for social gatherings and town hall meetings.
During the handing over of the projects on August 27, 2021, the Managing Director of GREL, Mr. Lionel Barre congratulated Nananom of Abrem Traditional Council, Nananom of Abrem Agona, Nananom and elders of Dwabor, Ghana Police Service and all other stakeholders for maintaining peace community and encouraged the community to continue to maintain the peace in the area as it is very critical for development. He also advised them to maintain the facilities and put it into good use.
The Chairperson for the ceremony, Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX, Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove Traditional Area and Chairman of ACLANGO was grateful to GREL for the 10-seater KVIP and the refurbishment of their community center and advised the people of the community to live peacefully with GREL.
Nana Esuakor Terpor V, the Ag. President of Abrem Traditional Council also thanked GREL for assisting the community with the two facilities within fours years of acquiring lands in Dwabor for its nucleus expansion program.
The two facilities were constructed at a cost of GHS 220,000.00 by GREL and it is a testament of the company’s commitment of being a development partner in its operational communities and the nation as awhole.
