As part of the company’s CSR projects, the Corporate Affairs Department organized a handing over ceremony at Nsuaem in the Tarkwa Municipalities on Thursday, May 29, 2025. This event marked the handing over of a building construction aimed at providing much-needed accommodation for the doctors at the Nsuaem Government hospital. The project consists of a 1-unit semi-detached apartment with four bedrooms.
Dr. Beatrice Omidiji, Medical Superintendent of Nsuaem Government Hospital, warmly welcomed the Nananom (ACLANGO), Nsuaem Chiefs, dignitaries, and GREL staff on behalf of the hospital. She expressed gratitude to GREL for responding to the hospital’s request and highlighted that the lack of suitable accommodation has often discouraged doctors from accepting postings in remote areas. She noted that the new One-unit semi-detached apartment provided by GREL is a significant relief. Dr. Omidiji further appealed for additional support, particularly for nurses’ accommodation, to meet the needs of the growing staff.
The Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Perry Acheampong, expressed his gratitude to the chiefs, Elders of Nsuaem, and the healthcare staff of the Nsuaem Government Hospital. He noted that this initiative is part of GREL’s continued support to the Nsuaem community, particularly in healthcare. He stated that the new facility, which cost approximately GH¢600,000.00, reflects GREL’s commitment to Nsuaem, a key operational area due to its extensive rubber plantations. He also commended the hospital staff for maintaining previously donated facilities, describing it as a strong motivation for GREL to continue its support.
Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX, Paramount Chief of the Lower Dixcove Traditional Area, expressed his sincere appreciation to GREL for its support and commitment to the successful completion of the project. He encouraged the hospital’s staff and management to ensure proper maintenance of the facility as a demonstration of their gratitude. He further advised patience with future requests, noting that GREL is also addressing other community needs.
Other key personalities, including the Chief of Nsuaem, the District Commander of Nsuaem, and the Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, expressed their gratitude to GREL for its continued support and contribution to the development of Nsuaem Hospital.
The event was graced by the Managing Director of GREL, Mr. Thierry Cauchy; Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX, Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove; Awulae Attibrukusu III, Paramount Chief of Lower Axim; ACLANGO Executives; Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr. Perry Acheampong; Community Relations Managers, Mr. Jude Fiifi Cudjoe and Mr. Peter Atoura, Elders of Nsuaem.
